heh ... you're giving me *way* too much credit.  i know very little
about the intricacies of the i2c-gpio stuff.  i do know enough about
the kernel source tree and build process to figure out how to fix
build errors, even when i don't understand what's going on in the
underlying code.  you'd be better off (at least for now) hoping
someone else on this list knows more about the i2c-gpio stuff than i
do.
