[uClinux-dev] dhcp or net driver not working in 2.6

Hi,
I posted a question 2 days ago about strange warnings (enable_irq ...
unbalanced) that were preventing me from pinging my router and my laptop. I
realized those warnings were simply warning messages left uncommented out in
the Linux 2.6.9 kernel and they have nothing to do with my real problem.
dhcpcd fails to acquire a dynamic IP and spits out a "time-out" error. I
googled this and I noticed several people have this problem in the
2.6.xLinux kernel. Unfortunately nobody has a solution for this posted
in
newsgroups. Also nobody knows if this is a dhcpcd problem or a net driver
problem (I'm using RTL8019 on Samsung's S3C44B0X).
I tried the following, but nothing worked:
- replace /user/dhcpcd-new with the 2.4.17 version
- configure and use dhcpcd (as opposed to dhcpcd-new) in menu config
- replace rtl8019.c and rtl8019.h files with the 2.4.17 version
- replace rtl8019.c with the ne.c (NE2000/1000 driver)
Is there anyone out there who was able to successfully get dhcp to work in
2.6 (with driver RTL8019)? Is this a problem with the dhcpcd software or is
it a problem with the driver? Can you use the NE2000/1000 driver with
RTL8019 and how do you configure this setup?
Thanks,
Tiberiu
