Hello,

I read quite many things from the mailing list. What we try to start
with
is the following :

with the Suzaku board SC030 we want to access the i/o which already is
available (86 free i/o).
As I read this should be possible with the GPIO driver with ioctl
(respective
http://www.itee.uq.edu.au/~listarch/microblaze-uclinux/archive/2007/07/m
sg00028.html )

We want to do try this first with the original eval board and FPGA
bitstream which was provided from
Suzaku. Is this possible or do we need for this first step also the
reconfiguration with the Xilinx EDK?
As the problem is that the documentation of this board is quite bad and
we up-to-now only are licensed
for Xilinx ISE package, but not having a EDK suite (nor the evaluation
version, as this kit was bought from
a new colleague who also not knows "what he did". He started with this
project, but now he refused for the
further development and wants only to do the layout for this new device
which we want to use this
Microblaze cpu for)
The device at the end should do following :
from a measuring software the small linux ml-cpu should control a
calibration impulse generator (several
impulse waveshapes should be switched on and off, switching of polaritty
etc.). If this will work we want to
improve this device and use it for the full control of a measuring
system (where upto now a usual windows/linux
low end pc hosts a small console software which get its command over the
network tcp/ip)

Sorry if these questions may be a little bit silly, but this is our
first development in the µC / Soft-CPU sector

Best regards
Torsten
