[uClinux-dev] :MTD/JFFS2 :problem in retrieving backup of mtdpartition

hi group....

i have enabled jffs2 in uClinux . before mounting the /dev/mtdblock4 by
/dev/mtd4 has to erased...so before erasing i need to take backup
of device file as it contains configuration file ..so i copy to ram using cp
/dev/mtd4 /etc/  but when i want it back  i dont have access to /dev/mtd4
for writing as it is readonly filesystem (i have tried commands dd ,sync)
