Jivin Barry Baldwin lays it down ...
> Hello everyone,
>
> We're using uClinux (kernel version 2.4.24) with uClibc on a ColdFire M5272C3. We have 4 MB AMD flash chip (essentially the same design as the M5272C3 eval board). I've gone in and setup the mtd mapping and we have a 2MB partition that is JFFS2. The system boots with no errors and the JFFS2 partition mounts fine. The problem we are having is that when we try to FTP files to the JFFS2 partition is is painfully slow. For example a 1.2 MB file takes about 15 minutes. I've disabled the compression on JFFS2 but that didn't seem to make a difference. Does anybody have any suggestions on what might speed things up? Is this to be expected with JFFS2?

Are you using page_alloc2 (contiguous page alloc) ?

If so try with the standard kernel allocator,

Cheers,
Davidm
